A Sway for Health, A Race for Wealth

T'was Friday morning in the aesthetic municipality of culture and heritage, Manolo! As the sun’s starting to rise, the tension is rising at the same time for it is the day, the day of showcasing the talents of all barangays within Manolo Fortich!

The crowd led by a zumba instructor made the activity even more lively.

Time passes by, numbers of participants came with flabbergasting attires with smiles painted on their faces saying they're ready for this such race. Then, viewers came together, filling up the whole sthe area, ready to applaud their bets and co-barangays.

As the clock strikes at 7:30, the entertainment has begun, when the midland category started to perform. Barangay Sto. Niño lead the amusement as they are the first one to present. Then followed by by brgy. Dahilayan, brgy. Lindaban, and brgy. Sankanan. These four barangays started to give the three judges a headache by their spectacular performances.

These contenders in vibrant yellow really crushed the heat.

Then the Hinterland category comes in which includes the barangay of Ticala, Minsuro, Mampayag and Damilag which heats up the stage as they showed their “unkaboggable” steps, choreography, and stylish moves enabling the audience to go haywire. Claps of about hundreds unleashed the performers and the viewers who stood fearlessly under the kissing-heat of the sun.

Bee-like color attire of San Miguel as well as the rainbow-like color costumes of brgy. Dalirig, brgy. Dicklum, brgy. Alae, brgy. Maluko, brgy. Tankulan and brgy. Damilag spread colors in the air resulting the audience to get captivated and star strucked. But the audiences were being moved even more when they've started to bring out their refined and rehearsed performance.

Drops of sweat, bundles of fun, and tons of cheers freed up as they set the ground on fire with their sizzling, astonishing, astounding performances. People were blown away as they kick their butts off and shake their body to their satisfaction.

Before the moment of truth, the audience were being regaled with a flash mob joined by all the contestants and some audience which shows the unity of the people here in the municipality of Manolo, that we're not competitors but brothers and sisters by heart, that we're one and we're in the same goal.

The beat of the music grooved with marvelous steps and wonderful sways brighten up the mood of the place and cools the weather. Brilliant smiles and laughter burst in the air as the contestants compete with their sexiest version of 'budots' after the emcee asks everyone the question "taga-asa mo?".

Contestants of each barangays fearlessly showed their selves and grind all the way to the ground and exerted all their strengths to give the best out of the best. The flash mob dance lasted for several minutes and is followed by the most-awaited moment, the awarding portion.

Here comes the proclamation of winners, the emcee has declared the barangays who had went through the finish line of the race with flying colors.

In the midland category, the barangay who garnered the third place who'll bring ₱5,000 cash prize is no other than brgy. Sankanan. Brgy. Sto. Niῆo placed second with a ₱10,000 cash prize and the brgy. who reigns the said category is brgy. Lindaban with a cash prize amounted to ₱15,000.

On the hinterland category, the crown was owned by brgy. Mampayag in which the representative take a split and showed acrobatic moves because of overflowing joy as she gets the award. The reigning brgy. has been followed with brgy. Minsuro as second placer, and followed by the beautiful brgy. of Ticala as third placer.

And on the highway category, the crown was being topped on brgy. Damilag which lets their representative tp dance all the way out from the stage to express their felicity. Second place was garnered by brgy. Maluko and third place goes to brgy. Tankulan.

The crowd of participants united is just lively to see.

The place was being trembled by shouts and blissfulness as they heard the results. The ground quaked as the winners jumped out and tears run down of gladness as they've achieved their goal.

The program was being closed with the emcee saying that "this Zumba is focusing on health" which is absolutely true, but also it includes the fun, the chuckles, the joy and the amusement.

Indeed, it is a great sway for health but also a race for wealth, wealth for it includes the prize in return.
