Break out those sweatshirt and get ready for some action for a good cause - for everybody and anybody! Holy Cross High School hosted a Zumba Dance-for-a-Cause from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m at Manolo Fortich Gymnasium to raise funds for the construction of their dream gymnasium. It was the vibe of the class, the permanent joy and happiness that was flooding the gym.

Sense of empowerment. A thing that one probably never felt before. It was not a dance class but a party. No one is judging you by your dancing abilities. You just have to engulf the fun and feel the beat. You can see the dancers with faces flashed with bright smiles together with their friends, cheering each other.

Opposite sides of the same coin.

This exercise in disguise brought the people of Manolo Fortich and our Philippine National Police Officers together to break a sweat while raising funds.

Lost in the sea of sound. Everybody danced, jived their hearts and souls. Indeed it was for people from all walks of life. Age? It does not matter here. This activity allowed everyone to have fun while safely losing pounds, burning calories while earning an exercised body.

In addition was a 'wow!' to our police officers . They swayed with the music not letting themselves get beaten. One of them shouted, "no one should quit…until the end!" raising the morale of the pack.

So as planned, they keep it up until the end with sweats all around their bodies. Same goes for our zumba troupe who were altruistic. Those who finished throughout the zumba were the true survivors. The zumba instructors were very magnetic that they were able to hook the audience up.

A thousand journey begins with a single step.

Nothing feels better than enjoying plus helping. With this zumba for a cause, it's not just ourselves who is happy. But also the people who can benefit from it.

According to one of the dancers, the sweats running down at his face and back is nothing compared to the help he has given. All of them made themselves fit plus supported Holy Cross High School.

Stumbled upon a female licensed zumba instructor for 2 years, said she was encouraged to join zumba because of her heartbreak. Thus, benefited a lot from zumba like, becoming healthier and slimmer. The thing was able to mend her broken heart too. And gained a lot of new friends.

According to her, "zumba is a profession but is not for professionals only. It's for everybody. Everyone is welcome to join."

With the zumba for a cause, the workout turned to be another thing. It was a fun a social dance party, whatever you call it. Not to mention exercise being its biggest perk!

The music was fast, upbeat and contagious. Everyone can't help but to keep moving. Being involved in such activity acquires a person benefits like discharging calories and fat burning around 600 to 1000 calories for an average person. Moreover, it develops both IQ and EQ, socialization skills and mental alertness.

Mood booster. Zumba is perfect if you want to get rid of all the stress you accumulate. Also, an avenue for socialization, this is a gateway to meet and interact with new people.

Did good, felt good. The best and most fun part of the event was the dance battle like a riff-off between our persistent zumba instructors and troupe versus the police officers. Entailed within were the strategic actions each party devised which sum up the event's climax.

All in all, with every sweat that is made, is the smile cherished after it. An activity like this somewhat highlights that no man is an island. In this zumba for a cause, it's hitting two birds with one stone. We don't only flush calories away yet we also help out.
